Is this "Whipped" Tallow?
No, and that is on purpose. Whipped tallow is often 50% air. Our "Butter" texture is a dense, concentrated solid that melts into a luxurious oil on contact. You get more product per jar and deeper hydration per application.
Will I smell like a burger?
Never. We use a proprietary wet rendering method that purifies the tallow 4x more than standard homestead brands. The result is an odorless and snow-white base that lets our botanical scents shine.
Why "Waterless"?
Most lotions are 70-80% water. Sego Lily is 100% active ingredients. You aren't paying for water. You are paying for potent concentrated nutrition.
Is grass-fed tallow really better than grain-fed?
Absolutely. Grass-fed tallow contains significantly higher levels of Vitamins A, D, E, and K, plus beneficial omega-3 fatty acids and CLA. Grain-fed tallow has inflammatory omega-6 spikes and fewer nutrients. The difference in nutrient density is substantial.
Can I use tallow if I have sensitive skin?
Yes. Tallow works with your skin's natural biology rather than against it. We offer unscented versions for extremely sensitive skin, and our scented versions use gentle plant-based fragrances. Start with our Baby & Mom Pure Butter if you have very reactive skin.
How long does tallow last?
Unopened: 12 months. After opening: 6 months when stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
